Come on. Be honest.
Most people we talk with usually answer ‘not enough’. 😬
And don’t worry, we’re all guilty of it (especially if you’re working solo). Other tasks take priority and before you know it, it’s been months since your clients or prospective clients last heard from you. 🤦🏻♀️
But this is BAD!! 👎🏻 As a well nurtured database can mean the difference between a business that thrives and one that just survives.
And it doesn’t have to take up too much of your time either. Especially when you can AUTOMATE this whole entire process. 🙌🏼
You can segment your leads and put them into different lists so the emails you’re sending out are even more powerful as the content is relevant to their situation and not some generic newsletter or ‘rates on hold’ email.
Regular interaction with your database (even as little as an email once a fortnight) not only helps you build rapport and be seen as a trusted advisor who cares, it also helps you stay top of mind so when your ‘not sales ready’ leads are ready to do business, they come to you. 🌟
🖇 So how does this relate to running events? 🖇
Because your database is one of the best FREE tools you can use to advertise your event!
BUT…
‼️If you haven’t interacted with your database for months and you try and send them an email about an event you’re running, they’ll either have no idea who you are, or there is a good chance they will delete your email without even reading it.
So, if you’re planning on running an event in the first half of 2019 start nurturing those leads now! So by the time you send them an invite asking them to attend or to share your event with their friends and family, they’ll be more inclined to do so because of all the value you’ve previously given them. It’s the theory of reciprocity 😉
P.S – if you need to revive a neglected database, start with an apology email and title it ‘I’m Sorry‘. This subject headline gets higher than average open rates. Just ensure the content of the email is of quality too. Let us know if you need some tips on what you could put in your email.
